WHAT IS #TRAUMAINFORMEDTOGETHER?
In 2018, Governor Carney issued Executive Order 24, prioritizing efforts for Delaware to become a trauma-informed state and incorporating Trauma Awareness Month as a key initiative. The primary objective of Trauma Awareness Month is to raise awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about trauma and its impact on individuals and communities. In May 2023, the Family Services Cabinet Council and Trauma Matters Delaware will be hosting Delaware’s fifth annual Trauma Awareness Month.
Trauma Matters Delaware developed the #TraumaInformedTogether campaign to educate Delawareans about trauma and encourage them to share this information with others. This campaign is especially targeted at people who work with individuals and families who have experienced trauma or who bear disproportionate risk for adversities such as racism or poverty.
