Background
Ensuring all of Delaware’s youth have a “first chance” to succeed, this award is committed to promoting youth-driven efforts in our state that embody these practices of trauma-informed care:
- raising awareness of the impact of trauma on Delaware youth;
- organizing community-based events to address the effects of youth trauma;
- educating school and/or youth communities on the importance of trauma-informed care and efforts to reduce trauma-inducing events;
- participating in/contributing to the development of youth programs for accessing trauma-informed care.
This award recognizes those individuals who have taken steps toward promoting awareness of and access to trauma-informed care services.
Eligibility/Supplemental Information
- Any individual under the age of 25 years of age that is promoting trauma-informed services to Delaware’s citizens within the State of Delaware is eligible for nomination.
- Nominees may nominate themselves or be nominated by other individual(s).
- Nominees selected as award winners will be recognized through the press and at an awards ceremony (announced at a later date).
- Nominees’ names, photos, and nominator contact information may be made available to the media through various State of Delaware social media sites unless Trauma Matters
- Delaware receives written notification stating otherwise.
- Individuals under the age of 18 may be required to provide proof of parent/guardian approval to share their name or image.
