Rita Landgraf Lifetime Achievement Award

The purpose of the Rita Landgraf Lifetime Achievement Award is to recognize outstanding achievement by individuals who demonstrate their commitment to trauma-informed community service and reducing the impacts of trauma in communities that have been made marginalized inclusive of Black and brown communities, individuals with disabilities, children and adults surviving sexual abuse, homeless, LGBTQ and the aging population.

Delaware is committed to ensuring that environments that serve children and adults in our state are working to embody these practices of trauma-informed care:

  • Creating respectful, sensitive, and culturally competent environments;
  • Implementing evidence-based trauma-informed principles and practices that address the effects associated with trauma;
  • Developing a common language and framework for dialogue and discussion to enhance communication and progress along the continuum of trauma-informed care; and
  • Increasing the effectiveness and responsiveness of all services and assistance provided to Delawareans, especially children and adults who have experienced traumatic circumstances.

Characteristics and actions associated with the Rita Landgraf Lifetime Achievement Award include:

  • Demonstration of community service through:
    • Leadership of and participation in community-based events
    • Membership on community councils or boards
    • Career positions dedicated to community service and/or clinical support for trauma-informed care
    • Leadership and/or support for community-based initiatives to implement trauma-informed care and address accessibility/equity to care in culturally competent ways.
  • Formal recognition of efforts to implement trauma-informed care and address accessibility/equity to care in culturally competent ways.
  • Personal and/or professional letters of recommendation related to the candidate’s efforts to implement trauma-informed care and address accessibility /equity to care in culturally competent ways.

 

Elegibilidad/Información complementaria

  • Any individual providing services to Delaware’s citizens within the State of Delaware is eligible for nomination.
  • All nominees should be nominated by another individual(s).
  • The award winner will be recognized through the press and at an awards ceremony (announced at a later date).
  • Nominees’ names, photos, and nominator contact information may be made available through various State of Delaware social media sites unless Trauma Matters Delaware receives written notification stating otherwise.
