Salary: $30 per hour (8 hours per week)
Job Summary
Trauma Matters Delaware is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trauma Informed Care Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of trauma education programs, outreach initiatives, and non-clinical services. This position will play a critical role in enhancing awareness and understanding of trauma-informed practices, providing support to individuals and affected by trauma at Henrietta Johnson Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities
1. Trauma Education
Develop and deliver educational programs and workshops on trauma-informed care for various audiences, including community groups, schools, and healthcare providers.
Create diverse information materials (brochures, presentations, online resources) to promote trauma awareness and understanding.
Stay updated on current research and best practices in trauma education and inform adaptations accordingly.
2. Outreach Initiatives
Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, schools, and healthcare facilities to promote trauma education and resources.
Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about trauma and its effects on individuals and communities.
Organize community events, seminars, and training sessions to engage stakeholders and promote participation in trauma-informed initiatives.
3. Non-Clinical Support Services
Provide general support services for individuals affected by trauma, including resource navigation, referral to appropriate services, and follow-up.
Collaborate with local organizations to create a comprehensive network of support services for trauma survivors.
Assist in the development of support groups and peer-led initiatives to foster community resilience and healing.
4. Program Evaluation and Reporting
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of trauma education and outreach programs, collecting data and feedback from participants.
Prepare reports and presentations on program outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Utilize evaluation results to inform ongoing program development and refinement.
5. Training and Supervision
Provide training and support for volunteers and staff involved in trauma education and outreach efforts.
Mentor individuals interested in trauma-informed care practices, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the organization.
6. Community Advocacy
Advocate for trauma-informed policies and practices within the community and relevant sectors.
Participate in community forums, committees, and coalitions to represent Trauma Matters Delaware and promote trauma-sensitive approaches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in trauma-informed care, community outreach, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of trauma and its impact on individuals and communities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and organizations.
- Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
